Tracking, Conversions and MicroConversions Codes

Adinton Tracking and Conversion Codes come with 2 new features. With our Tags/Pixels you can track different kind of conversions (Conversion Type) with a single code (e.g. sold products, newsletter subscriptions, filled forms…).

Moreover you will also be able to track Micro-conversions (Is Conversion). Micro conversions can be used to do the matching between mobile and desktop.

Where to find the code

You have to go to click in the User button > Tracking codes

How to insert the codes

First of all you will have to insert the Tracker code in all your pages after the <body> tag. This code has to go in ALL your pages, even the “thank you” page.

Secondly, you will have to insert the Adinton Conversion/Microconversion code for your “Thank you” pages or events.

IMPORTANT:

  • You can create as many events as you need… In this link you will see how to create this events.
  • It’s required remplace the sample values with your own variables that collect the required data (“Customer@example.com” with email variable, “1.01” with amount variable, “000000001” with your transaction id variable, etc.

Conversions

You can track different type of conversions or micro conversions using the same code. If you want to measure only conversions, please unselect the box of microconversions (On the tag menu)

  • Conversion Type > Allows us to give a name to the conversion or micro conversion (so If we have different ones we can distinguish them).

Sample: Sales

<script>(function(){
 _adn.push(['_cparams', {"conversion_type":"Sales","email":"customer@example.com","amount":"1.01","transaction_id":"0000000001"}]);
 adn_mconv=true; adn_cfimg=0; function adnConversionFunction() { if (typeof adnConv=='function') adnConv();
 else{ var re=new RegExp("adsmkt_"+_adn[4][1]+"=([^;]+)"); var value=re.exec(document.cookie);}} adnConversionFunction();
})()</script>

Replace the blue strings with your own variables.

Micro Conversions

Would you like to measure the times somebody has login on your website, the amount of newsletters subscriptions or any other variable? In order to do so you need to insert the same Adinton conversion code on the page or event where your action is triggered. You will as well need to add two labels which are ConversionType and microconversion, where micro conversion = “1” and conversion type = “the name we want for this value”.

Sample: Add to Cart

<script>(function(){
 _adn.push(['_cparams', {"conversion_type":"Add_to_cart","microconversion":"1"}]);
 adn_mconv=true; adn_cfimg=0; function adnConversionFunction() { if (typeof adnConv=='function') adnConv();
 else{ var re=new RegExp("adsmkt_"+_adn[4][1]+"=([^;]+)"); var value=re.exec(document.cookie);}} adnConversionFunction();
})()</script>

Replace the blue strings with your own variables.

Different types of conversions

Do you have different kinds of conversions in your website? Then you can as well, count all of them with a single code, the Adinton conversions code. In order to start counting you will need to add the IsConversion and ConversionType label.

For Conversion, you will have to identify it as a 1. As for ConversionType, you should add the name you want to assign to each type of conversion. Preferable 5 characters or less.

Multi-Device conversion

Do you want to count multi-device conversions? Then you should create a micro-conversion such as a log in and add the Adinton code wherever this log in triggers.

In this way we are able to do the matching between devices using the log in information. Therefore, we only need the user to log in from both devices (mobile, desktop),no matter if they buy or not, we will already be tracking them.

Google Tag Manager

If you are using GTM to insert the Adinton codes, you can find detailed information of how to do it at the next link
